Infant Wellness Services in Ojai & Ventura County
Occupational Therapy
Feeding, movement, and development are deeply connected in those first months of life. When one isn't going well, the others often follow. Moonhaven's infant OT services focus on pre-crawling babies, assessing the whole body to understand how your baby's oral motor function, muscle tone, posture, head shape, and sensory responses are working together.
We treat feeding difficulties from a motor and developmental lens, torticollis and positional plagiocephaly and/or brachycephaly, tummy time challenges, disorganized suck patterns, body tension that affects feeding or sleep, and sensory processing concerns in the first year. Every visit takes place in your home and includes hands-on parent coaching so you feel confident between sessions.
Oral Ties & Frenectomy Support
Not sure if your baby has a tongue tie or lip tie? Moonhaven provides comprehensive oral restriction assessments through a dual lens as both an occupational therapist and IBCLC, evaluating not just the anatomy, but how it's affecting feeding, oral motor function, body tension, and development.
If a frenectomy is recommended, we're with you before and after the procedure. Pre-release therapy prepares your baby's oral muscles and body, and helps the releasing provider see restrictive tissue more clearly. Post-release therapy supports wound healing, retrains oral motor patterns, and helps your baby make the most of their new range of motion.
Whether your baby needs a release or not, the goal is always the same: comfortable, effective feeding and a baby whose body is working together as a coordinated system.
Lactation
Lactation support is most effective when it meets you at home, in the real conditions of your daily life. Moonhaven's IBCLC offers prenatal consultations to prepare you for feeding before baby arrives, and postpartum home visits to address latch difficulties, pain with nursing, milk supply concerns, pumping, and more.
Because Jenna is also a licensed occupational therapist, every lactation visit includes assessment of your baby's oral motor function, body tension, and developmental patterns. When a feeding challenge has a motor or structural component, it gets identified and addressed in the same visit rather than through a separate referral.
Sleep Consulting
If traditional sleep training doesn't feel right to you, you're not alone and you're not without options. Moonhaven's sleep consulting is grounded in the Nurtured Neuroscience approach developed by Dr. Greer Kirshenbaum, offering families a gentle, evidence-based path to more restful nights.
Our Certified Nurture Neuroscience Practitioners help parents understand the neuroscience of infant sleep, build sustainable rhythms, and respond to their baby with confidence. Whether you're in the thick of sleepless nights or preparing for what's ahead, we offer guidance without compromising connection.
Groups & Courses
Some of the most powerful parenting support happens in a room full of people who truly understand. Moonhaven offers Mom & Baby Circles, intimate in-person gatherings rooted in brain-healthy parenting practices, as well as Nurtured Sleep and Nurtured Parenting classes taught both in-person and virtually by our Certified Nurture Neuroscience Practitioners.
